Blog Purpose

For several years, I have been fortunate to work on a variety of committees that foster student voice.  I have worked with incredible students of all backgrounds who, consequently, are breaking down the barriers that label students in this group or that.

As I began my Masters journey, I began to realize the importance of technology and the importance of sharing thoughts for the sake of promoting student voice and individualized student success.  It seemed like a ‘no-brainer’ to finally take the plunge in January 2014 and enter the blogging world.

As such, my blog posts are continually connected to student voice in the classroom various thoughts on promoting student success know that it looks different for each and every student.  Experience, research, and wandering thoughts are the guides to each post.  The pages embedded in the blog are intended to support educators, parents/guardians too, in understanding pedagogical practices that promote student voice.  These pages, however; are not the be all and end all of student voice/success.

It is my sincere hope that perhaps some thought will be sparked by my readers and make them reflect on the practice in some way or another. Perhaps you will even make a comment or two to make this ‘blogger/enthusiastic learner’ think (not hard to do!) As such, I encourage my readers to provide links, examples, and stories of how student voice is part of their teaching practice in order to foster a better education system that puts students first.

Looking forward to learning with you on this journey of awesomeness.
